Hello friends!
Foodies rejoice! Brisbane is bustling with cafés, restaurants and bars for all tastes. Whether you’re searching for a delicious coffee and breakfast, a tasty burger with fries, or even just a glass of wine with a beautiful view, you’ve come to the right place! As promised in my previous post, here is part II of my favourite spots to eat in Brisbane!
Little Clive is a very regular place I post about on my Instagram. This cute spot offers excellent coffee and pastries to eat-in or takeaway, or sit-in breakfasts and lunches that are also seriously tasty if you’re not on the run! During the warmer months, the iced latte is my must-have, cool down, caffeinated drink, especially during those hot summer mornings. But during autumn and winter, I love to sit by the patio heater for a delicious ham and cheese croissant (easily the best I’ve ever tasted), or the barbecue spiced baked beans – served with toasted sourdough and ham hock; a seriously delicious combination! Little Clive is located on Clive Street in Annerley and is open Monday to Sunday.
First things first, I love a good burger. If you follow me on Instagram, this is no secret. Whenever a burger joint is recommended to me, I have to visit to see if it is up to the hype, and Ben’s Burgers definitely is! Ben’s has two locations in the city – one in Fortitude Valley and the other on Boundary Street in West End. I love the West End location because it has a cool and casual diner feel, perfect for a chilled out weekend lunch or dinner with friends! My favourite dish here is the ‘Cheesy’; a burger with beef, a heap of cheese, pickles and onion, and they’re certainly not sparing with the special sauce. This paired with fries, a bourbon cherry cola and an additional side of special sauce to dip your chips and you’re in for a good night! Ben’s Burgers is open Monday to Sunday at both locations.
If you’ve ever visited Brisbane, there’s no doubt you will have seen, or at least heard of, Customs House. The iconic building is located on Queen Street and the garden dining and bar area overlooks the beautiful Brisbane River. Although the restaurant is delicious, I love to come here for an afternoon drink with a view at the themed pop-up bar. During the warmer months at the start of the year, I loved to visit the Sunset Spritz Pop-Up; a summer-inspired bar that specialised in a seriously good Aperol Spritz. The newest garden bar is the Absolut Winter Pop-Up, serving up winter-themed cocktails such as the Spiced Absolut Winter, featuring: vodka, cranberry juice, cinnamon, star anise, cloves and orange, and topped with meringue foam. Customs House is open Monday to Sunday for breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks.
If you’re looking for an absolutely delicious brownie, look no further. Dello Mano has an impeccable range of delectable goodies, but their chocolate brownies are a must try when you visit. The first time I visited, I tried the caramel macadamia and chocolate ganache brownies, and I’d easily recommend both of them! A bite of a brownie paired with a delicious coffee is definitely the way to go on a lazy Sunday. Dello Mano is located in Tattersall’s Arcade and is open Monday to Sunday.
One day, while I was exploring the beautifully idyllic Paddington, I walked past somewhere and the smell of the food made my eyes widen and blurt out, “I have to go in there!”. That, my friends, was the adorable, and incredibly delicious, Sassafras. This little gem is a cafe inside a gorgeous weatherboard cottage that has a whole lot of character. I love sitting out in the garden for some weekend brunch with friends, sipping on a delicious iced latte and checking out what food specials are on! The last time I went, the special was an incredible Croque Madame served on a savoury waffle – sounds pretty crazy but if they serve it again, I will be there with bells on! Sassafras is very conveniently located on Latrobe Terrace and is open Monday to Sunday.
